A somewhat catastrophic derailment on CSX's Baltimore Belt Line (which becomes their Philly Sub a few miles up). The train was traveling east, passing over the Jones Falls Valley and the Streetcar Museum, when events took place causing a derailment on the bridge passing over the Valley. Fortunately no casualties or injuries, considering one of the cars fell on someone's car on Falls Road (which passes beneath the CSX bridge). A great media event-of course-and you'll see some here. I passed there on Saturday the 16th, but all seemed clear already! The line seemed clear, though some freight cats that fell from the bridge still lined Falls Road (which remains closed in that vicinity). It was a great 78-degree day that Friday...unless you're CSX! You'd figure a train derailment would be noisy, but someone interviewed said it was a rather quiet derailment! Still-interesting seeing freight cars dangling over the former Ma & Pa RR right-of-way!!
